Designed in conjunction with Edward Just and Associates
The Glacier Park International Airport expansion and renovation was built in 1995, more than doubling the existing square footage of useable interior space.
Major coordination and project management efforts were carried out to ensure that the airport could remain fully operational throughout the entire construction process. Security and passenger circulation were also important factors when determining order of construction operations.
Various design features range from playful ceiling treatments contrasted in the custom carpeted floors to Kalwall skylights mimicking the mountainous surroundings of the Flathead Valley. Introducing large amounts of glass on the runway side of the terminal and dramatic evening lighting effects makes this project an impressive experience for passengers and visitors.
